Practitioner Profile

Search for a practitioner

  1. From Search, select Practitioners.

  2. Search by first name, surname, or Unique ID (Ahpra number or Prescriber number).
  3. (If required) Use the additional search options to search for a mobile number or an email address.

A list of matching practitioners displays in Practitioners Search Results.

There are three types of practitioner records in ScriptCheckSA:

    • Ahpra - The practitioner profile is sourced and uploaded directly from Ahpra and updated daily with the practitioner’s current information. These practitioners can register for the Practitioner Portal, provided their profession details make them eligible.

    • Non-Ahpra - The practitioner profile is created manually in the Management Portal, usually in the context of investigations or enquiries, to enable you to record information about monitored drug activities by practitioners not regulated by Ahpra. These practitioners cannot self-register for the Health Practitioner Portal.

    • Transactions - The practitioner profile is sourced from prescribing and dispensing events received. These transactions only display on the Practitioners Search page for reference and are for information purposes only. They cannot be used in regulatory workflows (i.e. linked to authorities, enquires etc.).

  4. Select the relevant record to open and edit it (if required).

To find a practitioner whose primary place of practice is not in South Australia, and/or whose profession does not qualify them to register for ScriptCheckSA, you must search by Ahpra Number.

However, if the practitioner has already been linked to another entity in ScriptCheckSA (authority, investigation, enquiry), the other search options can also be used to locate this practitioner.
